Luthierbuilt

Luthierbuilt is the term we choose to describe and categorize those instruments which are reflections of the craftsmanship and the creative vision of individual builders. Yes, an architect designs a house, but what if he or she were also the person to build it with their own two hands? That is the quality and intimacy one gets when they purchase a Luthierbuilt instrument. 

The Ottawa Folklore Centre has been proud to sell Luthierbuilt instruments from a wide variety of luthiers over the years. It's always very satisfying to match a player with the fruit of a luthier's labour. This match will often result in truly wonderful music. Here are the hand-built instruments currently available at the OFC.
